As far back as we can remember, we always wanted to screen Goodfellas. We all love us some Marty Scorsese, but far too often praise for his films does not extend to the person who actually puts them together: Thelma Schoonmaker. She has been working with Scorsese for over 40 years, editing all his films since Raging Bull. She has won three Academy Awards for Best Editing and holds the record for most wins in the category tied with three men. She is the second most-nominated editor in Academy Awards history with seven nominations, after Spielbergs editor Michael Kahn with eight nominations. And that doesnt even begin to speak to her multitude of other nominations, awards, and achievements! Thats who The MUFF Society is celebrating with this screening. Thelma forever!
