Pope Francis allowed to go home

According to a Vatican spokesman, Pope Francis is expected to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow and plans to attend Mass for Palm Sunday in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday. His doctors have reported that he is recovering well from bronchitis and has been prescribed antibiotics. Last night, the pope had a healthy appetite and reportedly ate pizza. His doctors have confirmed that he had a good and restful night.

Sources close to the pope have stated that he wishes to leave the hospital so that he can preside over the important church celebrations of Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter.

Francis was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on Wednesday after experiencing breathing difficulties. Given the pope’s advanced age and various health issues, including limited lung capacity due to the removal of part of one lung at a young age, a recent surgery to remove a portion of his colon, and persistent knee problems, there was concern about his condition. He is typically seen using a wheelchair.
