Ford Amphitheatre (Hollywood, CA)
Resurrección Mexican Folk celebrates the vibrant variety of sounds from the Latin American harp with a joyous outdoor concert of music and dance. Headliner Tlen-Huicani brings Veracruz’s son jarocho to the stage — the same style of music as the famed Ritchie Valens’ hit “La Bamba.” Also set to appear are the folk groups Conjunto Tenocelomeh, Grupo Santa Cecilia and Conjunto Armonia Michoacana. Since the harp is Paraguay’s national instrument, that musical tradition is also represented, as is Venezuela’s. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy before the show, and concessions will also be available for purchase on-site at this entertaining salute to the strings.
