Dianne FeinsteinKinde Durkee has another victim now: Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif). The democratic campaign treasurer has already “wiped out” campaigns of California state assemblyman, Jose Solorio (D), Reps. Susan Davis (D-CA) and Loretta Sanchez (D-CA). Durkee has served as the Democrat Campaign Accountant for various campaigns at local, state and federal level.

Feinstein stated that there was nothing suspicious or shaky in Durkee’s work. In an interview when asked about Durkee she said, “She did my ‘92 campaign, my ‘94 campaign, my 2000 campaign, my 2006 campaign and my gubernatorial campaign. I trusted her implicitly.”

Earlier this month, Kinde Durkee was arrested by the FBI on the charges of fraud involving a large sum exceeding $670,000. Over the last 10 years, Durkee has had a fine of $185,860 for eight separate cases, the Fair Political Practices Commission reports. Rep. Davis has labeled her as “the Bernie Madoff of campaign treasurers.”

Durkee had secure access to the accounts of all and this has created problems for Feinstein’s staff to access the accounts in order to calculate the loss. However, according to statements Durkee had on a whole gathered $250,000 from Davis’s reelection committee, $379,000 from Sanchez’s campaign, $200,000 from the L.A Country Democratic Party and $677,000 from Solorio.

Durkee has been released but barred from involving herself with any of the clients of Durkee & Associates, on a $200,000 bond.
