Stepping away from his usual comic and action roles, Akshay Kumar will be noticed portraying a severe character in his approaching film ‘Special 26’ and also the actor says he’s pleased to reinvent himself.
The 45-year-old, who plays a fake CBI individual within the film, stated the role is different from what he has carried out earlier and had been a challenge worth taking.
“A con confident artiste is some thing I’ve never been provided prior to and I’m pleased to have got this chance. I’m extremely happy with the role & it was a challenge. But I’m happy to get a chance to reinvent myself.”
The ‘Khiladi’ actor stated his director, Neeraj Pandey, had to convince him a great deal to complete the film.
“There was lots of convincing needed from my director that’s extremely essential for me. The director has to create me realize that I can do justice towards the role simply because reading the script isn’t sufficient for me. He should assist me visualise the role & let me understand how I match in it,” Akshay, who was in the city to market the film, stated.
Also starring Anupam Kher & Manoj Bajpayee, the film releases on February 8.
