Former BBC presenter, Stuart Hall facing press outside the courtEx-BBC presenter Stuart Hall admits indecently assaulting 13 young girls, aging from nine to seventeen; for over two decade, has now been branded as an “opportunistic predator”.

Mr. Hall, 83-year-old of Wilmslow, Cheshire, entered guilty pleas last month at Preston Crown Court and the details are being uncovered now after reporting restrictions were lifted.

Three charges of indecent assault and one of rape will lie on the court file.

His lawyer told about Hall’s apology to his victims and added: “He is all too aware that his disgrace is complete.”

Mr. Hall will be asked to sign the Sex Offenders Register as a requirement. He has been granted bail until his sentencing on 17 June.

Chief crown prosecutor for the North West, Nazir Afzal has stated after the hearing: “His victims did not know each other and almost two decades separated the first and last assaults but almost all of the victims, including one who was only nine at the time of the assault, provided strikingly similar accounts.

“Whether in public or private, Hall would first approach under friendly pretences and then bide his time until the victim was isolated. He can only be described as an opportunistic predator.”

Mr. Hall had earlier denied all the claims and stated them to be baseless but during the 16 April’s hearing, he answered “guilty” to all 14 sex offences.

After Mr. Hall’s guilty pleas, his barrister Crispin Aylett QC had stated: “The defendant is, of course, sorry for what he has done. Through me he wishes to apologise to his victims,” he said.

“He is not a man easily moved to self pity but he is only too aware his disgrace is complete.”
