Small Print Toronto’s 7th annual Totsapalooza festival of picture books, indie bands and D.I.Y. crafts will give cultural arbiters aged 2-8 a chance to take part in something as magical as it is monumental: a milestone in Canadian Literary History.
Don’t miss the world premiere of Elvis and Melvis, the highly anticipated new book of poems for kids by Dennis Lee, author of Alligator Pie. Lee will unveil his latest work with assistance from young stalwarts of Small Print Toronto’s popular rap-poetry workshop, Rhyme Stew Crew.
Acclaimed author-illustrator Ashley Spires, creator of the international bestsellers Make Something Magnificent and Binky The Space Cat, will present her latest book Edie’s Ensembles and conduct a fun, hands-on introduction to Maker Culture for Kids.
Kids can also dance to indie-rock heroes Communism, groove with choreographers from the Movement Lab, and hang out with the puppet duo Howie and Baboo from TVOKids’ new hit show Now You Know.
CBC Radio’s Kevin Sylvester will host the 7th annual festival of D.I.Y Kids Culture. And Wanda’s Pie In-The-Sky will run pop-up bakery at the event and serve their legendary all-natural, handmade snacks.
Both Dennis Lee and Ashley Spires’ books will be available for purchase at the event.
Small Print Toronto gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Ontario Arts Council.
