Acharya Sri Khadi MadamaEpisode – 4

Gracie had to listen very intently to figure out where the sound of the ringing telephone was coming from, however, it was only a matter of a few minutes that she saw a pink rat, a rather plump one,  sitting on it’s haunches and pointing to the closet in her room for her to find that out! A pink rat? Did she hear correctly? Did she hear the little pink rat say, “It’s for you”, before it scampered off again. Gracie didn’t know whether to rub her eyes in disbelief first, or to unclog her ears.  However, the next ring of the phone startled her back into reality, and then she dove into the closet to get to the phone.  It was a strange telephone, in Powder Pink. It looked like one of those princess style telephones that Gracie had seen in 50’s movies. She hesitatingly lifted up the phone to answer it, saying very timidly, “Hello”?

A beautiful female voice began to speak. “Good Morning and Namaste, Gracie. Welcome to YogaLand, where everything is pink and perfect.  Don’t be late for Yoga class today, your adventure is about to begin. You’ll be greeted by several great Yoga Masters all in due time, who will teach you the wonders of Yoga.  Anytime that you wish to telephone YogaLand, just pick up the phone and I’ll be here to speak with you. My name is Muriel.  If you are not at home, you can always use your Pink YogaLand Mobile phone”.  Just then the phone went silent. “But I don’t have a mobile phone”, Gracie said out loud, with a quizzical look on her face.

“You do now, Gracie, and if you’ll just turn around, I’ll show you how it works”.  Gracie spun around like a top in a windstorm to see the strangest creature she’d ever imagined.  It was a very chubby boy with the head of a elephant. And eight arms! Eight arms!  He was dressed like a prince, all in pink, and every one of his hands was holding a different object. At his feet was the pink rat, munching on what looked like a pink hard boiled egg!

“Don’t mind my little friend, he’s harmless, but like me, always hungry. You see, I look like this because I stole butter.  Running from my mother, and wanting to hide, I put my own head into the form of an elephant that my mother was baking, and so, this is how I look.  My name is Ganesha and this is my pet rat, Musika.  He is now your friend and if you let him, and feed him, he’ll be around whenever you call him or feel lonely.  I’m the first of those whom you’ll meet, because I am the remover of obstacles and so I always appear first before the others”. Speechless, Gracie could only nod her head to indicate that she understood.  At least she would try to understand what was going on.  “Now before I leave you, I have two gifts that I must give you.  The first is a pouch of pink magic glitter to be used for travel and all sorts of things that you’ll see in time. The second is your Pink YogaLand Mobile phone”.  Ganesha reached out and opened Gracie’s left palm and placed something invisible in it.  Gracie couldn’t see anything but she could feel something light being placed in her hand. Ganesha instructed her to take a deep breath and while exhaling, to sprinkle some pink glitter into her left open palm.  Magically, an invisible mobile phone appeared like a hologram, outlined by the pink glitter.  Gracie was astounded and asked what the different icons were on the keys, since there were no numbers. As Musika leapt up on Gracie’s left shoulder, getting ready to demonstrate the phones functions, Ganesha responded…………to be continued
