This one-of-a-kind entertainment experience features the best in South Asian music and dance with contemporary indo-jazz fusion, global beats and cutting-edge DJs from Canada’s South Asian music scene. Vancouver’s Plaza of Nations will be transformed into a colourful celebration of South Asian culture and music, showcasing over 100 artists from across Canada and around the world.

As Canada’s largest financial institution, RBC has been involved with this unique event right from the start.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to sponsor RBC desifest because it enables us to continue supporting the South Asian community and emerging artists,” said Graham MacLachlan, regional president, RBC Royal Bank. “Events like RBC desiFEST are about more than a fun musical extravaganza…they’re also about creating a shared experience based on cross-cultural understanding. RBC is proud to welcome the second RBC desiFEST to Vancouver and to provide support for this important community event.

“As a family-owned, proudly Canadian company, Rogers realizes how important it is to reach out to the diverse communities from coast to coast,” says Susan Gordon, vice president, Regional Marketing. “The Rogers brand is built on a commitment to playing a role in those communities and our sponsorship of RBC desiFEST is a demonstration of that commitment.”

RBC desiFEST presents Canadian talent and will also showcase pioneers of Indian fusion music from around the world: Apache Indian will headline the West Coast while Raghav and Blitz Krieg will headline the East Coast.

“Since we began in 2007, we have stayed true to our vision for creating a national platform for a talented generation of South Asian inspired artists and music,” said RBC desiFEST Founder and Director, Sathish Bala. “It’s wonderful to see the impact of RBC desiFEST as it brings together South Asian artists to finally showcase their music to new audiences in Canada.”

This multi-city event will also host a bazaar featuring artisans and traditional South Asian delicacies, and dance and music workshops.
