Almost 600 students of city-based MNM Jain Engineering College took out a rally to LB Road in Thiruvanmiyur, where volunteers of the Chennai chapter of India against corruption are holding an indefinitefast for the seventh day, and raised slogans in support of Anna.
Students of The New College staged a human chain in front of their college. On Monday evening, a group of people started a candle light vigil for the third day in Anna Nagar locality.
When the people were attending a rally in the LB Road, the epicenter of the Anna supporters in the city, four people were on fast. But the doctors diagnosed them as jaundice patients and were advised to break their fast; IAC spokesperson informed it to the media.
The spokesperson also said that, 20 people are on fast. Among them there is an old man of 81 years and a disabled person. Because of their fast, they lost weight. On Tuesday, the Tamil Film Industry is on one-day fast to pay a tribute to Anna and to fight against corruption at the Film Chamber premises.
Though it is on a voluntary basis, members of South Indian Film Artists Association, Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council, Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) and other technicians were expected to participate in the protest, )," a member of the producers council and Film Federation of India President L Suresh said.
