Even though we haven’t seen much of Raveena Tandon on the silver screen of late, the 90s diva has been quite active on the social circuits due to her association with many charitable causes. And for those who are missing and yearning to see the actress back in action, here is some great news for you.

Raveena Tandon’s film The Mother (previously titled as Maatr) is all set to hit the theatres on April 21 and she will be seen essaying the titular role of a mother in the film. Besides Raveena Tandon, the film will also see Madhur Mittal (of Slumdog Millionaire fame) playing the antagonist. The Mother revolves around the fight for justice for women who are victims of violence and rape.

Speaking about The Mother, Raveena Tandon said “I found the script very gratifying, as it showed how one can deal with criminals indulging in crime against women, while remaining on the right side of the law. As a society we need to change our laws to protect women.”

While The Mother has been written by Michael Pellico and directed by Ashtar Sayed, the film is being produced under the banners CDB Musical in association with Anjum Rizvi Film Co., Manoj Adhikari Production and Pugmark Films Pvt Ltd.
