British Columbia’s provincial representative for children and youth, Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond, is to release a report today, revealing the truth behind the dreadful deaths of three British Columbia children.

Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond looked into the matter to conclude whether some policies, practices or actions of a public body have played a role in the alarming deaths of three young siblings – Kaitlynne Schoenborn, 10, Max, 8, and Cordon, 5.

Allegedly, the father killed his kids at their residence in Merritt, B.C., in 2008 and ran off. Their mother discovered the bodies the following day. The court did not find him criminally responsible; however, he now stays at a psychiatric institution in Coquitlam.

The upcoming report will establish if an additional effort could have been put in by the authorities who came in contact with the family. Turpel-Lafond will thus draw conclusions and put forward a set of recommendations for any public body.

According to Turpel-Lafond, she received a lot of help from Darcie Clark, the mother of the murdered siblings. She was determined to make certain that any holes in the system are set to be repaired.

Turpel-Lafond is scheduled to release her report at 10:30 a.m. PT in Victoria.
