The gigantic fire that engulfed the entire Caloocan mall has finally been declared under control by the authorities after 4 days of continuous efforts of the fire management squads on Tuesday.
Fire authorities in Caloocan had called in help from teams of other surrounding areas as well. The announcement of the fire being completely extinguished was made from the office of Caloocan Fire Marshal Oscar De Asis who said that the fire was put out completely at 7 25 am on Tuesday after tiring efforts put together by the entire team. Announcing further he said that some of the teams are still working on the five story building to make sure nothing catches fire again and there is no further damage.
He also said that no one will be allowed to enter the building until the heat levels come down and the black clouds hovering above the sky are gone. Approximate damage to the building has been estimated to be about 500 million.
Government secretary Jesse Robredo has announced setting up of an inter-agency task force and has given the team 45 days to fully investigation into the matter and submit a report of the cause of the deadly fire which injured 7 fire fighters. The special task force team will be headed by the senior superintendent of the Bureau of Fire Protection Fennimore Jaudian.
