“When the National Anthem is being sung, I realized before that there are some people who loiter around like cattle,” Kiir said. “When the Anthem is being sung everybody must stand up and pay attention, take it from now as a law,” he added.
The choice of Independence means understanding some of the symbols of national prestige which includes the National Anthem, Coat of Arms, Flag, and Emblem. They symbolize independence and the citizens should know them by heart and deeds.
The President directed the traditional dancers to be very attentive when it comes to big occasions. After the parade was over the traditional dancers commenced playing the drums and so forth for lack of knowledge on whom was speaking or what next.
“If there is any function like this and leaders are talking, you’re supposed to stop dancing and listen then after that you can go on performing. Nobody listened to most of the speeches,” kiir said.
On the other hand, over 30 primary schools’ pupils marched before the dignitaries uncontrollably during the celebration. This did not go unnoticed by the President. “The teachers who brought these pupils failed to control them; this is a failure of command, they are moving anyhow,” the president wondered.
Kiir thanked the Governor of Central Equatoria State, Hon. Clement Wani Konga upon his new docket and signing of the new State Constitution. The President urged the leaders to commit themselves to the law.
