Speaking when he visited the party offices in Wau Tuesday, Governor Hassan urged the party officials to seek amicable solutions to problems bedevilling South Sudan’s main political party in the state.

The party’s Western Bahr el Ghazal State Secretariat has been hit by internal wrangles following the refusal by some ousted officials to vacate office.

The party’s State Assistant Secretary for Political Affairs and Mobilization Mel Aleu Goc and the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Finance Rudolf Unguec Kangi who were axed from the party by the SPLM Liberation Council last month have refused to hand over office.

The officials were dismissed from the party over what officials said were gross misconduct in contravention of the party’s constitution.

The party‘s State Chairperson General Mark Nyipuoch Ubuong convened a meeting Monday where he urged the officials to act as required to avoid more wrangles in the party.

At the Monday meeting Ubuong directed the new State Secretary Paulino Adam Naro and the State Deputy Chairperson Joseph Anthony Kpandu to ensure the ousted officials hand over their offices peacefully.

He at the same time directed that the party’s activities proceed as per the party’s resolutions at last month’s meeting.

In a new twist, the State Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Moses Yel Akoldit has condemned the ouster of the party’s State Secretary Kamil Wana Uraj, saying the issue had not been discussed by the SPLM Liberation Council.
