Oneonta Congregational Church (South Pasadena, CA)
Hear some of the finest music of the century — the 16th century, that is — when the Los Angeles Chamber Singers Quintet presents Musica Transalpina. The program explores the full spectrum of Renaissance solo and small-group songs, from English and Italian madrigals to the roots of German lieder and French chansons, heartbreaking romantic ballads, comical songs and more. Conducted by music director Peter Rutenberg, the program features some of the biggest names in Renaissance music, including Thomas Morley, William Byrd, Clement Janequin, Josquin Des Prez, Claudio Monteverdi, Orlandus Lassus and many more.
