Mumbai: Famed script writer Shagufta Rafique shows her interest that she wants to rope in Bipasha Basu and Randeep Hooda in her directorial venture. She has planned to direct a movie and she is in talks with the banners to move on. Shagufta writes for Vishesh Films. She began writing film scripts after leaving her job as a bar dancer.
Talking about her directorial project, she reveals that it will be a thriller and she is on way to finalize the cast and the banner. She goes on adding that once the star cast and the production house get finalized, she will make the official announcement of her maiden project. There are rumors that her maiden directorial film will be produced by Reliance Entertainment but she denies all reports saying with reliance on production seat, she has another project which she has written but her directorial venture will not be produced by the banner at all.
Shagufta reveals that she is in talks with some good banners and she will soon zero in one for her cinematic outing. She has written many films like Woh Lamhe, Dhoka and Murder 2. Now she feels that direction should be the next in her career.
For last three years, she has been thinking over starting direction for movies but she could not find at apt time. She mentions that when you dash off scripts, you scribble down about visuals and other details thus you are in a better position to convert the narrative on the celluloid than other director. Rafique adds that watching someone else directing your script raises a question inside you that you can do better than the one who is directing.
Wait for her official announcement, stars she has revealed already but banner is yet to be decided by her for her directorial debut.
