Saint John man Donald Snook charged with several counts on child sexual abuse investigation

A 40-year-old Saint John man has been charged following a police investigation into Internet child exploitation.

Donald Snook of Saint John appeared in Saint John Provincial court this afternoon charged with;

• Three counts of sexual interference on a child under 16 years of age between December 2006 and January 2013. All the counts are in regards to the same victim;
• Two counts of possession of child pornography between March 2011 and January 2013;
• One count of making child pornography between March 2011 and January 2013;
• Two counts of making child pornography available between March 2011 and December 2012.

He was arrested at his residence on Saint John’s east side on January 9, 2013. A search warrant was executed. During the search, police seized computer equipment and child sexual abuse images.

The charges come following an investigation which began in 2011. The child sexual abuse image investigation is being led by the New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit with assistance from the District 3 RCMP, the New Brunswick RCMP Tech Crime Unit, the Saint John Police Force and the Toronto Police Service.

Donald Snook has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing on January 14.

The investigation is continuing.
