Selangor police will investigate the rally called to protest the results of GE13 held on Wednesday. Police chief Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said that police would contact the organizers of the rally held at the Kelana Jaya Stadium and get their statements.

In addition, opposition leaders who delivered speeches at the rally would also be contacted to facilitate the probe. Reportedly, the content of 28 out of 33 opposition leaders’ speeches was subversive and violated Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act 1948. Police also accuses the organizers of breaching Section 9 (5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act.

“We only received their notice at 12.20pm yesterday, we have asked them to postpone it to be fair to the surrounding residents,” Tun Hisan told the press.

He held the organizers responsible for breaking laws and causing massive traffic congestion. Apparently, the stadium has the capacity to accommodate 25,000 people with a little over 700 parking lots, which was not sufficient for the gathering.

“Just imagine if something happens in that congested area? This shows how selfish the organizers are, they don’t care about the consequences of their acts to the people,” he added.

Tun Hisan confirmed that police has not arrested anyone so far but might feel the need to do so as the investigating progresses. The probe report will be submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further investigation.

“We view this matter seriously as they blatantly disregard the law, disrespect the local residents,” he added.
