Do you like musicals? Love hating on hipsters even though you secretly know you kind of are one? Get jealous that NYC has tons of shows all about how great it is and just want a chance to laugh at Toronto-centric references for precisely 90 minutes in Toronto’s little known art squat? Then come see Squat: A Super-Secret Back-Alley Musical in association with the Toronto Fringe Festival! Suzie, a tough kid from Toronto and her boyfriend, Ben Fife, sang love songs every night in 401A, the citys most romantic secret hideaway. When Ben was discovered and whisked away to Hollywood, Suzie was left behind and disappeared on a heartbroken, alcohol-fueled bender. The show picks up as Suzie returns to find the squat has been taken over by hipster duo Lex Zeppelin and Baritony Danza. Disgusted and determined, she vows to reclaim her venue. This is a site specific show, which means it’s actually taking place in one of Toronto’s most hidden gems. Want to check it out? Tickets go on sale June 17! There’s only room for 45 people each night, so get your tickets soon. **This show is rated 14+ for foul language, intense mockery and (if you get really lucky) nudity.
