Winner of a Best of Fringe Extension, Michael Kass’ hit one-man show Ceremony returns for encore performances. At the height of the current recession, Kass quit his job and flew to Peru. He was depressed, grappling with heartbreak, and was looking for answers. Under the direction of a shaman, he decided to give the sacred Amazonian ayahuasca tea a try. Ceremony is the funny and poignant story of Kass’ spiritual journey. LAist called the award-winning actor-writer’s debut solo show “a worthy lineal descendant of Spalding Gray’s Swimming to Cambodia.” Kass’ work has appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, Thought Catalog and The Moth GrandSLAM.
