Metepenagiag First Nation man Conrad Augustine charged with aggravated assault for stabbing

A  30-year-old man has been charged with assault and aggravated assault following an incident that occurred on the Metepenagiag First Nation on January 18, 2014.  Blackville RCMP responded to a report that a 33-year-old woman had been assaulted, and a 35-year-old man had been stabbed. The man was transported to hospital and later released.

Police arrested Conrad Augustine, of the  Metepenagiag First Nation, at the scene.  He was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to appear in Miramichi Provincial Court on January 20, 2014, for a bail hearing.
