With Dedh Ishqiya winning him good acclaim, even though commercially the film may not have broken many barriers, Arshad feels that critics especially start warming up to him only after seeing him play the same character second time over.

"Aah, now that's the story of my life. Lagta hai ab har picture ki sequel mein hi aana padhega. At least I get a lot more appreciation then," quips Arshad, albeit with a straight face.

Before one realizes that he is trying to bring in his characteristic humor here, he does add on, "Hasn't that happened with my other sequels too? Be it Munnabhai, Golmaal, Dhamaal or now Ishqiya series, people start recognizing my contribution a little more when they see me playing the same character again."

Not that he is shying away from playing an original part. As a central protagonist in The Legend of Michael Mishra, he is stepping into the heartland of the country. While the film is based in Patna, it also travels to Allahabad and Kashmir as well along with a couple of other cities, in addition to Mumbai of course.

"It is also very dramatic and a heart wrenching love story with Aditi Rao Hydari opposite me. It is a realistic fantasy world which has been created by my director Manish Jha. The best part is that all the humor comes in without anyone trying to be funny," details Arshad.

Once the film is wrapped up in quick time, he would move on to Guddu Rangeela. A dramedy, the film has Amit Sadh along with Arshad Warsi, who returns with director Subhash Kapoor after Jolly LLB.

Meanwhile he is self confessedly clueless about the fate of Bhaiyaaji Superhit, the film he started ages back with Sunny Deol in the central role.

"Well, I did shoot for the film but after that another schedule hasn't taken place. I don't know what's happening on it. My knowledge about the film is as much as yours. As a matter of fact, perhaps you would be able to tell me a lot more about its status," winks Arshad before signing off.
