Hollywood Bowl (Hollywood, CA)
Two rising stars in the world of classical music, trumpeter Alison Balsom and guitarist Milos Karadaglic, join the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a night of zesty Spanish solos and colorful orchestral dances, including a special duet set. On the program are Kodály’s Dances of Galánta, Falla’s Siete canciones populares españolas, Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez and Ravel’s La valse. Milos Karadaglic came to international attention in 2011 with his debut album, The Guitar, which topped classical charts around the world and earned Karadaglic Gramophone‘s prestigious Young Artist of the Year Award. Recently named Female Artist of the Year for the second time at the Classic BRIT Awards, Alison Balsom is one of the most groundbreaking classical musicians around. She’s performed with some of the premier orchestras in the world, headlined one of classical music’s most celebrated concerts, the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms, and appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman.
