Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a dazzling backlight puppet adaptation of the classic Eric Carle story about a very tiny (and very hungry) caterpillar who chomps his way through the world en route to transforming into a beautiful butterfly. A great way to introduce younger audiences to the magic of live theater, the show also features adaptations of the popular Carle tales Little Cloud, in which a playful cloud transforms into various shapes, and The Mixed-Up Chameleon, who attempts to emulate the beautiful animals he encounters on a trip to the zoo before realizing that there’s value in being his own unique self.
