A living jazz legend, Arturo Sandoval returns to Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre for Save the Music 3, a night of swingin’ music for a good cause. Dizzy Gillespie mentored him. Andy Garcia played him in an HBO movie about his life. He’s recorded with everyone from Frank Sinatra to Alicia Keys, and played the Super Bowl with Tony Bennett and Patti LaBelle. In addition to playing a mean trumpet, Sandoval is a classical pianist and composer, and can count performing with the world’s premier symphony orchestras among his many achievements. With Save the Music 3, he’s hitting the stage at the Alex with his big band and some celebrity friends to once again raise money for youth music programs. It’s sure to be a swingin’ good time.
