Investigators in the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have cleared the scene at 216 Caledonia Road in Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police responded to the residence shortly after midnight to conduct a well-being check of the residents. That investigation led officers to the discovery of the bodies of Bahrija Hadzic, a 53-year-old woman and Sejad Hadzic, a 54-year-old man. They were husband and wife.
Based on the investigation and after completion of the autopsy by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, officers have determined this was a murder-suicide that occurred late last night. It is believed Mr. Hadzic took the life of Ms. Hadzic before he took his own.
