On Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 31-year-old Marc Albert, from the Caraquet area, N.B., was sentenced to eight months in jail, followed by 18-months of probation with conditions.
Albert was arrested on October 28, 2009, for assault causing bodily harm against a woman. During the night of October 28, he had punched and kicked the woman, dragged her on asphalt by her hair and broken her jaw. Other assault charges had been laid against Albert in the past for other incidents involving the same woman.
On January 10, 2011, Albert pleaded guilty to one count of assault causing bodily harm and two other counts of assault.
