However, many small businesses are unaware they might qualify for the Canadian version of the tax credits that brought us these wonderful inventions. Well it’s called SR&ED and it’s awesome.

SR&ED, or The Scientific Research and Experimental Development Program, is Canada’s premier tax incentive designed to help businesses of all sizes across all industry sectors in their quest to develop new products and processes. Depending on the type of work you’re doing, this credit may be used to offset the costs of an engineer or developer.

Learn how to take advantage of the SR&ED tax credit from Dr. Nirma Jesuthasan, the principal of ENGINEVA Research Solutions. He’s an avid mechanical engineer with 10+ years of experience in research and development (R&D) planning, execution and funding. Dr. Jesuthasan has prepared over 150 SR&ED claims and helped Canadian companies recover more than 20 million dollars in tax refunds. He has also provided strategy and support to successfully counter disputes with CRA in relation to SR&ED claims.
