The Cranbrook RCMP, with assistance from the South East District Major Crime Unit in Kelowna, are investigating a shooting incident in Jaffray, B.C.
At 7:00 p.m. on June 16th, a group of young people were inside a house, when one of them was able to access a firearm. The firearm was discharged, striking a 17 year old male youth.
Although First Responders from the Jaffray Fire Department and B.C. Ambulance personnel were quick to respond, their efforts could not save the victim.
Police are currently conducting a scene examination and collecting evidence.
The name of the deceased youth is not being released at this time.
