The Toronto Police Service, with the assistance of the Seattle Police Department, has arrested a man wanted in a 2006 sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– in 2006, a 13-year-old child was sexually assaulted by a man identified as Doane Seales

– a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Friday, June 24, 2011, Doane Seales was located by the Seattle Police Department in Seattle, Washington.

The Target Apprehension Group of 31 Division, along with the Crown Attorneys’ Office, made arrangements for his return to Toronto. The Seattle Police Department, US Marshals Service, US Immigration, Canada Border Service Agency and the Toronto Police Service worked together to facilitate his return to Toronto.

On Tuesday, July 12, 2011, officers from 31 Division went to Seattle, Washington and took custody of Doane Seales, 27, who was arrested for Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Forcible Confinement and returned to Toronto.

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 10 a.m., room 306.
