84 year old Toronto cyclist dies in hospital

On Friday, August 5, 2011, at 9:02 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision on Greenwood Avenue at Plains Road.

It is reported that:

– an 81-year-old man was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla southbound on Greenwood Avenue, approaching Plains Road.

– an 84-year-old man was riding his bicycle westbound on Plains Road, approaching the intersection of Greenwood Avenue.

– both the car and the cyclist entered the intersection and collided with each other.

The 84-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
