The parents of Trayvon Martin, 17, asked FBI to assist in their son’s murder case as they lost all hope in local police. The teenager was allegedly shot dead by a white neighborhood watch captain in Florida who is still free.

“It’s surprising. It’s shocking,” said Tracy Martin, father of the deceased teenager. “It lets me know that justice is just not being served here. All we want is justice for our son. We’re not asking for anything out of the ordinary.”

As time passes by, the murder case is grabbing more media attention. Particularly, the youth on internet seems to be spreading the cause of finding justice. Majority wants the 28-year-old George Zimmerman, who insists he acted in self-defense, arrested.

Sanford, Fla., Police Chief Billy Lee says until a probable cause to dispute is identified, the police don’t have the grounds to arrest Zimmerman.

“Do we really believe that if Trayvon Martin would have pulled the trigger, he would not be arrested?” said Benjamin Crump, their attorney. “This is obviously a cover-up, and we need a sweeping overhaul of the Sanford Police Department.”

Even if Zimmerman had acted in self-defense, the case is now seen by the majority as a racially motivated murder. Therefore, the case is of critical nature and requires vigilant plan of action.
