Salman Khan is convicted of killing two blackbucks in Jodhpur while shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998 and has been awarded five years of sentence plus Rs. 10,000 fine. As we speak, the actor has been escorted to the Jodhpur Central Jail, where Asaram Bapu is also housed. His counsel is now preparing for the bail now but the damage is already done. Salman is found guilty and other accused Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu, among others are acquitted from all charges. This truly is a landmark judgement. While Salman’s sisters Alvira Agnihotri and Arpita Khan Sharma who accompanied him in the court broke down, Twitter has hailed the court’s decision and has congratulated Judge Khatri for his sense of justice.
One user wrote, “Kash salman se 100 crore leleth ar Hiran ke liye surakshit jangal develop ka de tho achcha tha. (Court should have fined Salman Khan with Rs 100 crore and develop a forest with the money for the extinct animals)” and showed his solidarity with the court’s decision. Another claimed that ‘he should have got maximum punishment and maximum fine.” On Twitter user said, “I thought five years one blackbuck, he killed two.” One individual couldn’t have expressed this judgement in better words. He wrote, “Today once again I get some Confidence in our Judicial system, only one humble Request to our Judicial system is that please don’t take this much time to give Verdict to Rich people.” One more Tweep explained this phenomenon in one word, “Wow great verdict #SatyamevaJayate.”
