The government of Singapore has announced to celebrate their National Day in a unique manner this year. The National Day Parade (NDP) will not just be a display this year but the audience will also be given the opportunity to become a part of it. Spectators can get involved in the NDP activities via photo competitions and get their pictures put up at the NDP roadshow. People can also submit videos of themselves singing the national anthem and they will be included in the background of the national choir singing at the auspicious day on the 47th birthday of Singapore.

The theme for the 47th birthday celebrations for Singapore is “Loving Singapore, Our Home”, which was announced on Wednesday by the organizing authority. They further explained that the purpose behind keeping this theme was to revitalize the feeling of love and connectivity of the people with their country. Designed by Tan Ai Khim, who is a lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, the logo of the parade was also revealed.

The chairperson of the organizing committee Desmond Tan said, “NDP is a time to celebrate who we are, our unique culture, diversity and everything Singaporean. I hope [Singaporeans] will go home feeling proud and emotional about being a Singaporean.”
