On Monday, July 16, 2012, at 10:40 p.m., police responded to multiple calls for a shooting on Danzig Street.

Officers responded to the scene where people were running and driving from the area.

Police located two victims suffering from obvious gunshot wounds at the scene. Both were pronounced deceased.

The victims have been identified as 14-year-old Shyanne Charles, of Toronto, and 23-year-old Joshua Yasay, of Ajax.

A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

It is reported that:

– upwards of 100 people attended the outdoor party that preceded the shooting on Danzig Street

– during the evening, for reasons unknown at this time, a man shot another man,

– a number of subsequent gunshots were fired into the crowd, injuring 23 people and killing two

– a woman was also injured, suffering non-gunshot-related injuries
