The sequel to Roger Bean’s hit musical comedy The Marvelous Wonderettes, Winter Wonderettes picks up the action on Christmas 1968 — a few months after the singing ladies’ 10-year high school reunion. The gals are entertaining at a holiday party, which finds itself in danger of going down the chimney after Santa goes missing. This festive show brings back the signature four-part harmony of Missy, Suzy, Betty Jean and Cindy Lou for seasonal songs like “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Santa Baby,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “O Tannenbaum” and “Mele Kalikimaka.”
