A video director from Quebec, Xavier Dolan, is encountering sheer criticism against his recently directed graphic music video for the French band, Indochine. The music video for the song College Boy displays a teen being brutally bullied, beaten and then crucified by his peers. The video has resulted in a considerable controversy in France, prompting the council responsible for regulating media to have announced to take action against the video deemed as too graphic and violent to be shown on television.

A French newspaper, Le Monde, recently reported that the council has promised to examine the video further and carefully reach to the conclusion of which regulations to place on it. A member of the regulatory body, Françoise Laborde, informed the newspaper that she is inclined to have the music video restricted to at least people over 16 or perhaps people over 18. She reminded that, not too long ago, the council restricted a Marilyn Manson video to be viewable for audience only aged above 18 years.

The black and white video depicts the story of a student who is brutally taunted by his peers, who also throw crumpled balls of paper at him during classes. Later his locker is vandalized and he is pushed down the steps of the school by his classmates and beaten bloody by an angry mob. In the last scenes of the video, it is shown that the blind-folded classmates remain busy on the cellphones while the student is crucified and shot to death.
