 Investigators arrested an Oshawa couple this week following an incident involving an elderly man who was lured into an apartment and robbed in late July.

On Tuesday July 27, 2010 at approximately 12 p.m., an 84-year-old Oshawa man, leaving a banquet hall in Oshawa, was flagged down by a female pedestrian at the intersection of Albert and Bloor Streets. She requested a drive home to her apartment in Oshawa. The senior gave the female pedestrian a drive to her apartment and accepted an offer for refreshments inside. Once inside the apartment, the female suspect grabbed the senior’s wallet and a struggle ensued.

During the struggle, a male suspect emerged from inside the apartment and offered to protect the victim’s wallet. The victim turned over his wallet to the male, which was returned to him a short while later, with the majority of his cash missing. The male suspect denied he had stolen the several hundred dollars. The victim was not physically injured and was released to drive home.

Following an investigation, both suspects were identified and arrested August 28th by police.

Sharon FRANKLIN, age 28 of Avenue Street in Oshawa is charged with Robbery and was held for a bail hearing. David FRANKLIN, age 44 of Avenue Street in Oshawa is charged with Theft Over $5,000 and was released on an Undertaking with Conditions.
