The Dakar Rally, a MotoGP World Championship is starting this week in the host city of Rosario, , Argentina. The first stage starts from Rosario to San Luis that covers the distance of 809 km. Since its start in 1979 the Dakar Rally had taken place in Paris. 362 drivers do take part in the race who almost covered 800–900 kilometers per day.
The three major classes in the Dakar are the motorcycle (including quadbikes) the car (buggies to small SUVs) and the truck.
The winners in 2013 from Car section were Stéphane Peterhansel and Jean-Paul Cottret. Motor cycle class won by Cyril Despres while trucks class won by Eduard Nikolaev and quads class won by Marcos Patronelli.
