REDCAT: Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (Los Angeles, CA)

This avant-garde sex farce, starring former Manchester United soccer star Eric Cantona as “The Stud,” begins innocently enough with a young couple and their transvestite housekeeper preparing for a much-anticipated late-night orgy. But when the guests begin arriving, things start to get really weird. Along with “The Stud,” guests include “The Slut” (Julie Brémond), “The Star” (Fabienne Babe) and “The Teen” (Alain-Fabien Delon), who each reveal their inner and outer desires via monologue and flashbacks. Yann Gonzalez’s 2013 film screens at Outfest in French with English subtitles, and features a score from electronica band M83 (“Midnight City”). Drew Lint’s short film Rough Trade kicks off the evening.
