"The Emigrants"

Strangers in a strange land examine their situation in The Emigrants, the ironic and moving play from eminent Polish writer Slawomir Mrozek. “AA” is a political exile from the old country, an intellectual made bitter by fate and history. “XX,” his roommate and fellow countryman, is a simple peasant who emigrated on his own terms and now desires nothing more than to be rich and prosperous. Now, on New Year’s Eve, alone in their squalid digs, this existential odd couple discusses life in their new “home” and the illusions, dangers and dreams that brought them here. This Odyssey Theatre production of The Emigrants stars Piotr Cyrwus and Szymon Kusmider, two renowned actors from Teatr Polski in Warsaw. This play will be performed in Polish with English subtitles.
