Sublime rose to prominence in the ’90s thanks to reggae-inflected ska punk hits such as “What I Got,” “Wrong Way” and “Santeria.” Though original frontman Brad Nowell tragically died in 1996, the band, now called Sublime with Rome, has forged on with new frontman Rome Ramirez. Playing fan faves along with new songs, they sound as fresh and breezy as Sublime in their early days. The refigured band’s debut, Yours Truly, broke into the top 10 on the Billboard album charts in 2011. Their much-anticipated follow-up record drops this summer, and they’re embarking on a coast-to-coast supporting tour that stops at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater with reggae rock acts Rebelution and Pepper, as well as glam rap star Mickey Avalon.
