The Zapp Band will no doubt get the dance floor thumpin’ with their signature ’80s electronic funk, leading an all-star lineup of old-school R&B hitmakers, including Shirley Murdock (“As We Lay”), New Jack swingers Club Nouveau (“Rumors”) and balladeers Surface (“Closer Than Friends”). This Centinela Valley Center for the Arts concert brings back Zapp, who were famed for their pioneering use of the talk-box and for their collaborations with George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic. Besides their huge hit debut “More Bounce to the Ounce,” the group also scored with singles like “Doo Wa Ditty,” “Dance Floor,” “Computer Love,” “I Can Make You Dance” and more.
