Murder of Surrey man Balwinder Uppal may have been targeted hit

At approximately 6:40pm on June 4, 2011 Surrey RCMP received a 911 call regarding a suspicious incident. Uniform officers attend to a residence in the 7400 block of 140st and located the body of a 43 year old male inside the residence. Initial evidence indicates that the male was the victim of a homicide.

The male has now been identified as Balwinder Uppal age 43 of Surrey. The cause of death has been confirmed as multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe that this is a targeted homicide and is not a random act of violence.
