The White House facebook page has been updated with threatening posts pointing to possible terror attacks in the U.S. This has resulted in heightened security throughout the country and specially in Washington D.C and New York.
Intelligence reports have stated the news is credible and specific and is targetted at vehicles, bridges and tunnels. As per the security report, the terrorists would comprise of 3 people from Pakistan who will be executing the attack.
Investigations are underway to cordon off any suspicious persons. The FBI in this regard is making extensive interviews to eliminate such persons. However, a government official has reported that until now, no confirmation has been given by the security officials of the entry of any terrorists on American soil. Also, the FBI has not recorded any unusual purchases of chemicals required to make car bomb.
A joint FBI-Department of Homeland Security bulletin said that there is an outside chance that an attack of the likes of the attempted “time-square attack” might be under consideration by Al-Qaida. However, the tight security is to remain in action till evening rush hour today, as per NYPD.
