More trouble springs up for the debt-sunk Kingfisher Airlines. The department of tax announces to freeze more of Kingfisher Airline accounts as the company fails to pay by the given deadline.

Kingfisher Airlines owned by Vijay Malya, owed the Service Tax Authorities 40 crore Indian rupees. The concerned authorities had a meeting with Kingfisher officers and pushed them to pay the owed amount and only froze a few of their accounts giving them time till Wednesday to pay a minimum of 10 crores.

Kingfisher Airlines could not arrange for the money and the tax authorities froze another 40 of the company accounts as per the announcement made today.

Kingfisher got in trouble with the losses it experienced in 2010-2011. The total amount added up to 7,075 crore. Due to the incident, the airline has been unable to pay its employees which led to hundreds of pilots and other operational staff resigning on account of non-payment of dues. Airline authorities made several announcements about employee payments being cleared “soon” but nothing has happened in three months now. Countless flights were cancelled in the previous month burdening the aviation authorities and stranding millions of customers on airports.

The government has also announced to not come forward for bailout of Kingfisher or any other private airline.
