Aesopera is a five-part chamber opera based on the beloved fables of Aesop. These ancient Greek tales have survived to be passed from parent to child throughout history. Their simple, yet universal morals have remained true for thousands of years. Aesopera covers five of the tales: the tale of a princess trying to cope with queenship, the tale of a poor fisherman granted three wishes, the tale of a lion who sacrifices his claws, the tale of an inventor trying to outsmart fate, and the tale of amphibians trying to enact a democracy. Set in mythic Greece, but touched with a modern flair, these lush and lyrical mini-operas bring the timeless stories to vibrant life.
