Toronto police officer Paul Cargill charged for drunken driving

A Toronto Police Service officer has been arrested and charged.

Detective Paul Cargill, 46, has 22 years' service, and is currently attached to 11 Division. He was off-duty at the time of the alleged offence.

It is alleged that:

– police responded to a radio call for an impaired driver northbound on the DVP

– the accused was stopped by police and arrested

On Thursday, June 14, 2012, the accused was charged with:

1. Impaired Driving
2. Over 80 mg Operation

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, July 19, 2012, room 301, 1 p.m.
