"The Pianist of Willesden Lane"

Pianist-playwright-actor-composer Hershey Felder (George Gershwin Alone, Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein) and the Geffen Playhouse present pianist-author Mona Golabek in The Pianist of Willesden Lane. Adapted and directed by Felder, The Pianist of Willesden Lane tells a true story from Golabek’s family history and is based on an award-winning book that she co-wrote. Set in Vienna in 1938 and London during the blitzkrieg, this moving portrait of hope and survival chronicles a young Jewish pianist’s pursuit of her dreams despite the oppression of the Nazi regime. Filled with live performances of some of the world’s most beloved music, The Pianist of Willesden Lane has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “an arresting, deeply affecting triumph.”
